“You can’t call her, you can’t text her, you can’t email her, you can’t send her any letters or go to where she’s at,” Canas told Manziel.

Manziel, dressed in a gray suit and tie, appeared in Canas’ Dallas courtroom on Thursday, a day after turning himself in and posting a $1,500 bond in the domestic violence case.

Canas also asked Manziel if he owns any guns or lives in a place where guns are accessible; both are prohibited under terms of his bond.

“No, your honor,” Manziel responded.

The hearing was over within minutes.

Manziel was indicted last month on a misdemeanor assault charge and is accused by Crowley of kidnapping, hitting and threatening to kill her at a hotel in January. Crowley’s eardrum was ruptured and she lost hearing as a result of the assault, according to her claim.

If convicted, Manziel faces up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
