Jorge Masvidal unwilling to put ‘BMF’ title on the line against Gilbert Burns

Jorge Masvidal was awarded the symbolic ‘BMF’ title after defeating Nate Diaz at UFC 244. Gilbert Burns, who will face the No.11-ranked welterweight at UFC 287, took to Twitter to call for UFC President Dana White to put the belt on the line, stating:

Masvidal responded to the request during an appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, stating:

Each of Masvidal’s opponents since his UFC 244 victory have called for an opportunity to win the symbolic belt. UFC President Dana White has noted that the belt was a one-time thing and will not be put on the line in the future.
