Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has reignited rumours of his Real Madrid return by stating that he would have no problem coming back to manage the club.
In case you didn’t know…
Since he was sacked by United over two months ago, rumours have been rife of Mourinho’s potential return to Real Madrid, who are having a dismal season following the departures of Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Red Devils were 19 points behind then league leaders Liverpool when it was decided that Mourinho’s relationship with the club should come to an end.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are struggling to woo their fans owing to unconvincing showings and little improvement from the team they were under Julen Lopetegui.
The defending European champions have crashed out of the Copa del Rey and their La Liga hopes are all but over after a defeat to Barcelona at the Bernabeu on Saturday. This has made Solari’s future at the Bernabeu even more uncertain than it was before.
The heart of the matter
Mourinho, who was quite successful during his three-year stint with Los Blancos, has now stated that he would not mind a return to the club provided that it has the right ambitions.

The former United boss added that his exit from Old Trafford was the only departure that was frustrating.
What’s next?
Solari laughed off the idea of Mourinho returning to replace him, saying that Real Madrid had more suitors than Julia Roberts. However, with Madrid’s back-to-back El Clasico losses and poor form in the La Liga, Solari might be heading out by the end of the season.
Solari’s last chance of proving himself appears to be the Champions League and he will make sure to achieve this by beating Ajax in the second leg of their Round of 16 fixture on Wednesday.
